The Happiest Healthiest Yoga
You’ve heard it everywhere, you should be doing more yoga! But why? Let’s dive deeper and discover why you should be incorporating more yoga into your daily movement practice, and how we can flow together!
Yoga is a practice that originated long before you and me, to help tap into the human existence and body even further. With its focus on mind body breath connection, each practice moves you through a state of wholeness. The yoga that we are all used to is what is technically called an Asana; the physical flow instructors guide us through. But yoga can be so much more than that, and derives many benefits through movement and through stillness.
To keep it simple (because I could write a whole novel about it) let me list off five of my favorite reasons to do yoga:
Improves strength, balance, and flexibility through long holds in postures
Restorative yoga can help ease irritated joints and relieve pain
The focus on breathe helps regulate the nervous system and decrease angry reactions
By teaching you to move into a sympathetic, rest state, it helps you go to sleep and stay asleep
It’s fun! Getting into a flow can be a state of euphoria, and the endorphin kick is always an added bonus
